Since 2021, I have been the head of the Biel Psychiatry Department at the Psychiatric Center Münsingen (Canton of Bern, Switzerland), where my team and I provide care for individuals with mental illness and their families in Biel and the surrounding region — including athletes dealing with mental health issues and psychiatric disorders.

My research project examines the impact of a child’s athletic career on their parents’ mental health, as well as how the parents’ mental health, in turn, affects the child’s well-being and performance. Based on these findings, my goal is to optimize psychiatric care for both athletes and families involved in the sports environment, and to develop a deeper understanding of how to provide support that is specifically tailored to their unique needs.
