Francesco Bavato is an attending physician and clinical scientist. He studied medicine at the University of Padova (Italy) and Heidelberg (Germany) and obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the University of Zurich. After an experience as a resident physician in neurology, he started his specialty training in psychiatry at the Psychiatric University Hospital Zurich of the University of Zurich. His research focuses on the role of brain plasticity in the development of psychiatric symptoms and their treatment. He has expertise in translational research methods including molecular marker detection, multimodal brain imaging, and experimental psychopharmacology.
